Consumer Club

In order to meet the challenging needs of corporate world environment, it is not just sufficient for a student of commerce to be sound theoretically but must also be exposed to the outer world in a dynamic way to face practical situation. Since its inception consumer club in the college is trying to enrich and empower the students with academic and technical excellence.

Objectives

  • To educate students about rights of the consumers as provided in consumer protection Act, 1986.
  • To impart knowledge about the role of consumers in protection of their rights and to strengthen the consumerism.
  • Bring awareness and realization about duties and responsibilities as Citizens of India.
  • To enable students and self help groups come  together as a team with local communities and develop in to caring, responsible and honest citizens.
  • Mobilize and instill right-consciousness, confidence to question violations of citizen and consumer rights and fight for justice.
  • Impart knowledge about real life situations and to enable to development of skills to handle citizen and consumer issues.

 

Activities of the Club:

  • National consumer’s day is being celebrated every year on 24th December with the cooperation of District Consumer Information Centre, Nellore. Competetions like Essay writing and elocution are conducted on the day.
  • Consumer awareness classes are taken on every Saturday by the department of Commerce.
  • With the kind Cooperation of Department of weights, Consumer Affairs & District Civil Supplies, the club arranges guest lectures to the students of the college on different aspects of awareness on Consumerism.
