Vision, Mission & History:
Hindi is an important language among the all over national languages and it has an official language status throughout in India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Its script “DEVANAGIRI” is written and spoken accepted worldwide nations specially in UNO meetings and Conferences.
In India, so many employment sources are created in state and central government organizations such as “HINDI RAJBHASA ADHIKARI”. In Nellore, Central government organization like SHAR, PGCIL, BSNL, RAILWAYS,LIC, INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT,CUSTOMS & EXCISE DEPARTMENT, POSTAL DEPARTMENT etc, are appointed as Hindi officers to give importance for development & promotion of this language.
The Department of Hindi was started half century after from 1964 in this prestigious college i.e. D. K GOVERNMENT (A) DEGREE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, with second language and it is encouraged by the Department and the students studied Hindi for the purpose to acquire of P.G. level Higher Education after the completion of Graduation course.

Hindi as a second language subject is offered for three different streams of the undergraduate students i.e.
- B.A. – Bachelor of Arts
- B.Com. – Bachelor of Commerce
- B.Sc. – Bachelor of Science
At present Smt. Syed. Almas Begum is working as Senior Lecturer in the Department. She is also designated as HOD, Chairman, Board of Studies of the Hindi Department. The Department is conducting Board of Studies meeting time to time and revising the Syllabus, Question papers to enhance the academic excellence.
The Department achieves 100% of pass result in the semester end exams every year. The Department also proposes & plans to start Rajayabasha Hindi U.G. Diploma Course and other Certificate courses from the next academic year onwards.
