Dodla Kousalyamma Govt. Degree College has been the most renowned educational institution in Nellore that has been serving the girl students for decades. The institution strictly abides by the words uttered by Vivekananda. Beginning from the visionary cum philanthropists to the Principals and the lecturers, the entire institution works with the motive of educating and empowering the rural masses, more specifically, the much discriminated class i.e., the rural girls.

The college works towards providing higher education to girls thereby giving them opportunities to soar brightly through their careers and aims to make them self-dependent. The institution focuses not only on the theoretical curriculum, but also in the development of a student’s personality, extra-curricular activities and over all perspective. The college boasts of having everything that makes a good institution - a highly trained faculty, rich library, placement division, teaching methods and liberty to think.

The objective of higher education in rural area is associated with employment as it ensures a positive attitude to see the universe from better angle and to analyze, determine and apply an individual’s idea in the constructive development of society.

I am very happy with the progress the college has made by imbibing in the students value based education synergized with modern teaching-learning methods with the motive of introducing well cultured and holistically successful individuals and citizens to the nation. The college, its various committees, the numerous activities and interests are directed towards the enrichment of the comprehensive personality of the students.

I hope the college continues its endeavors in the same way until it fulfils the dreams and wishes of the nation.
