Dodla Kausalyamma Government Women's College was built in the heart of Nellore on 27th June 1964 by the philanthropy under the visionary leadership of Dodla Subbareddy in the name of his wife. This college has not only educated the women of Nellore district but also the women of other districts and made them versatile and has earned a special niche in the state. This college is becoming a role model for other colleges day by day in both education and research field. The Department of Telugu Studies in this college has also been established since the inception of the college and is thriving for the development of Telugu language and satisfying the students' thirst for literature and also guiding them towards employment. Such teachers of the Telugu Department Dr. K. Karuna Sri established a literary forum named ' Sahiti Kausalyaam ' in the name of Dodla Kausalyamma to share with everyone on many literary topics that need to be discussed in Telugu literature. Many conferences and workshops were organized through this. Apart from that, in collaboration with the faculty members of other colleges to promote research among the students ' This is my research!' program, 'Chintana' program is being conducted to make literary criticism easier for the students.
