   DepartmentalLibrary:

  • The Department is maintaining the reference section in the staff room with a wide range of reference books pertaining to the subject available for the students

 

  • The central library of the college is providing the academy books and reference books for the students. It has hundreds of reference books related to various fields of COMMERCE.

 

                                                       

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Audio-Visual facilities:

  • The department has the LCD projector, Slide projector, A large number of slides and all other facilities to provide qualitative education in an innovative way by providing extensive information.

 

  • Several Power Point Presentations were prepared in relation to the academics and general studies and the class room teaching is provided through the PPT’s by the faculty members.

Internet Facilities:

  • Very good internet facilities are provided to the students. They are utilizing this facility to learn the new things, to clarify their doubts and for academic progress in their future.

 

EVALUATION OF THE STUDENTS:

  • The Department conducts Unit tests and gives assignments regularly for all the three year students for assessing their performance. Marks lists are prepared and placed in a separate register.

 

  • Based on the analysis of the marks obtained by the students, the slow learners are identified and they are supported individually in their academics by providing right counseling and remedial classes.

 

  • The Department also conducts Student seminars particularly for final year students in which they actively participant and the same week be recorded in a separate file.

 

  • Some of our staff members often visits other colleges and deliver Extension lectures in invitation from them.

 

  • The Department also conducted pre final examinations at the end of the academic year to prepare the students for university examinations.

 

 

       EXTENSION LECTURES:

  • Every year the Department organizes the extension lectures by inviting eminent senior faculty members from local colleges or from the University to enrich the students regarding their academics. A separate register is maintained.

 

  • The faculty members of the department are invited by various other colleges to deliver the lectures on various fields of commerce and personality development. A separate register is maintained.

FIELD TRIPS:

  • Every year the Department commerce to bring the students to field trips and visit the local Banks, ATM and the Small scale enterprises with deferent mangroves for final year students. A record is maintained. A separate register is maintained.

Seminars:

 

  • Several student seminars were organized by the department every year to improve their soft skills. The other departments are invited for these seminars to provide valuable suggestion for the academic advancements of the students. A separate register is maintained.

QUIZ PROGRAMMES:

  • Regularly the department is conducting the quiz programmes in Academic syllabus and in various fields of General studies

  • Regularly the department is conducting the Group Discussion programmes in Academic syllabus and in various fields of General studies

  

 

 

REMEDIAL COACHING:

  • The Department organizes the remedial classes to the academically back-ward students particularly for final year students to improve their academic standards. Our staff members consider this activity as their responsibility and they provide academic assistance by taking classes for them. The same will be recorded. A separate register is maintained.

 

 

Assignments:

  • Assignments on selective topics were allotted to the students to raise their academic status. They progress in the process was regularly monitored by the lecturers of the department. A separate register is maintained.

 

Student Study Projects:

  • The students are invited to fulfill the commerce study projects in various fields of commerce. A set of study projects were provided for the students. An academic freedom was provided for the students in the selection of Study project. The work of the students was recorded and necessary help, suggestions and guidance was given to the students. A separate register is maintained.

 

  • The Department is providing the basic research orientation to the students and enhancing their interest in the field of research in Commerce by organizing field trips and by providing student study projects

RESULTS:

  • The first meeting of the Department will be arranged in the month of June after reopening of the college to discuss and review the results so that proper steps will be taken for the improvement of academic performance of the students. The same will be recorded in the minute’s book of the department. The percentages of results in the subjects and paper covered are maintained in a separate register.

 

  • Based on the analysis of the results, the slow learners were identified and supported by providing the right counseling and academic support.

 

 

  • The department provides the academic assistance for the needy students in their supplementary examinations and various internal examinations conducted by the department itself
