At present three NSS units are functioning in this college with more than 300 volunteers. These units are playing most important role in creating social awareness and sense of discipline among the student community. In addition to their regular academic work Smt.D.surendra,Lecturer in Chemistry, and Dr.S.Divija Devi, Lecturer in Telugu, Sri N.Joji, Lecturer in Political Science are acting as Programme Officers to Unit-I and Unit-II and Unit III respectively.
Every year the units organize 10-Day special camps to inculcate the sense of self service and social responsibility in the students towards rural population. The college has been organizing the camps regularly since 2001. The details as follows:
2010-11: A 10-day NSS special camp was conducted at Sundaraiah Colony, Nellore rural Mandal from 05.02.2011 to 11-02-2011 with the participation of 50 volunteers.
2011-12: A 10-day NSS special camp was conducted at Gollapalle, Nellore rural Mandal from 17.11.2011 to 23-11-2011 with the participation of 50 volunteers
2012-13: A 10-day NSS special camp was conducted at Vikalangula Colony, Nellore rural Mandal from 02.02.2013 to 08.02.2013 with the participation of 50 volunteers.
2013-14: A 10-day NSS special camp was conducted at Kallurupalli Village, Nellore rural Mandal from 02-01-2014 to 11-01-2014 with the participation of 50 volunteers.
2014-15: A 10-day NSS Mega Camp was organized from 01-11-2015 to 10-11-2015. This is a unique programme organized on “Penkalamkari Art which is specialized in SriKalahasthi. 100 volunteers participated and acquired the skill of drawing and painting. The District Joint Collector attended the camp and appreciated the volunteers.
2015-2016: A 10-day NSS Mega camp was organized at Pallepadu village and Gollapalle with 100 volunteers from 07-09-2016 to 17-9-16.
In addition to the special camp programmes, we organize many regular programmes such as Blood Donation camps, clean and green programmes, HIV/AIDS awareness programmes, Youth festival programmes, National Integration day, National voters day, Women’s day, Legal awareness programmes, Health awareness programs etc.,
Apart from this the NSS Volunteers participated in personality development programmes by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Youth affairs.
